How do you properly request praise from a client for a job well done?
Q. We just finished the project and the client is happy with our work. How do we solicit praise for a job well done without offending the client? We are sending out a survey, but want to add a free comment area asking for specifics. Adding the praise helps to boost my employee morale and generate more business. Not worried about the paycheck.

A. Ask them..in writing(preferred) or in person, if they would fill out a testamonial for you and the job you did since they were satisfied. You can use a blank form in MS Word or have them write it out themselves.

Perhaps he is having a hard time to ''integrate '' into the team .. and it's also possible the colleagues don't make it easy for him.. sometimes when somebody is shy, a good co-worker would take that person under their wing.. introduce them to the others, make it easier for a shy person and some colleagues just see someone who acts a bit different and give that person a hard time.. If you are the supervisor or the manager there, you should watch the staff when they feel they are alone, often the most amazing things happen.. How can i praise and potty train my rabbit?
Q. I bought a netherland dwarf yesterday, male and hes only just started to poo on my wonderful bean bag! I want him to poo and pee in his cardboard box, but he seems to prefer the 300 leather luxury. Also, how do i praise him, or even scold him if he does something right or wrong? A. Hello, I have had many pet rabbits and really enjoy them. I have also had great success at litter training. Rabbits are relatively easy to train because their natural instinct is to poop only in one spot in the wild (underground or above ground). I believe that this reduces the chances of being sniffed out by predators. Anway, I found that what works the best is to have a small litter box in the cage with shavings or litter. Keep picking up poops and putting them in the box and/or move the box to the corner of the cage that the rabbit seems to want to go in. After that, you can add a litter box outside of the cage - but don't give the bunny full range of the house. Start small so he knows where to go. I had the best luck by having a cage… [cont.]

Q. I am in charge of the praise time at my church and I am running out of ideas for songs. I need up beat recent songs. I use the radio to get ideas but the problem with that is that half the time they don't give the song details so I can find the words and mp3 file. I gear the music towards the youth age group, but there are also a lot of older people in attendance. Any ideas would be great.

Why do certain black people always want praise?
Q. I say certain because I don't think "some" is really specific. I've read stories about notable black people and the majority of the time they get praise for being the "first black" to do something. People need constant praise when they are insecure and need constant approval that they are on track and doing the accepted thing. Apply this to your question if that explains "certain people" from your perception. The danger is people who are constantly told they are great often are not. I use the example of people trying out for American Idol who cannot sing a note but were told they were great singers by their moms and karaoke friends. Then at the end of the week if they're raffle ticket is drawn out they get to choose a small prize from a box. Some schools give out golden time - time to play or do a free activity of their choice.

Is it possible to praise your dog too much?
Q. Will a dog begin to think he/she's the alpha/dominant one in the home if you over praise? I find it confusing when people say you should praise the dog every time it acts and does something appropriate. Like telling her "good girl" every freaakin time she doesn't harrass the cats. A. Verbal praise is at a minimum in my house. I don't understand why people think you constantly have to reward the dog with either verbal praise or a treat. My dogs know I am pleased when they react the way I expect to a command. Too much praise can confuse and excite. I don't do it. Affection? Yes. But not after they have done what they are expected to do.

Q. I grew up not having much praise at all. I am afraid by wanting to "break that cycle" I may be "overdoing" it. I do praise when appropriate, but my 7yo daughter is such a great person and a complete angel. She has given me NO trouble about anything at any time, ever! A. You can overpraise. Everything in moderation. A few things that could happen if this is out of balance in your child's life is: -she may become dependent on praise and thus think she is not doing well unless she is praised -become insecure because she thinks others are upset at her if she is not praised -she may learn to look to others for feedback rather than trusting herself, needing constant reinforcement and praise from others. -she may look for compliments when she is older and they are not given, which can lead to destructive attention behaviors And so on. Praise is good. But like everything it has to be in balance. Too much of anything creates unbalance. Good for you for 'breaking the cycle' with your children. :):)
