The Gospel says that ALL of us who have faith are basically Saints. BUT the Catholic church usually refers to "Patron Saints" when it says "Saints" because these are individuals which lived extraordinary lives and therefore can serve as role models to us all. The Catholic faith has over 3,000 patron saints. Each saint gets a "saints day" 1 day a year when we are suppose to remember them. Well there are only 365 days in a year..and thousands of saints.. so on any given day, there are multiple Patron Saints being remembered by someone, some where in the world. This is just one way in which the Catholic church gives its followers a tremendously rich faith to draw upon and focus on.
